Yangon: Myanmar beat Pakistan 1-0 in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
The match between Pakistan and Myanmar at the Thuwana Football Stadium in Yangon started at a fast pace.
There were good moves from both sides. In the 41st minute, the home team was given a rare chance to score when a Pakistani player was fouled outside the penalty area, which Than Pang converted to give Myanmar a 1-0 lead.
After that, the game picked up speed, but neither team could score more goals, and Myanmar won the match by 1 goal to 0.
This was the first football match between the two teams since 1974.
It is pertinent to note that Group E of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers includes Pakistan, Myanmar, Syria, and Afghanistan.
