In May alone, robbers killed 12 people during theft and robbery incidents


Karachi: The menace of street crime remains uncontrolled, as muggers have killed 48 citizens so far this year — including three women and a police officer — during robbery attempts involving resistance.
In Karachi, ruthless criminals have claimed the lives of 48 individuals in 2025, including three women and a police officer. Just this month, another citizen was gunned down by robbers.
On June 9, police initially claimed that the killing of a man named Nasir in New Karachi’s Bilal Colony was due to a personal dispute, but it was later revealed that he was shot dead by robbers during a mugging attempt.
In May alone, robbers killed 12 people during theft and robbery incidents — including a police officer, a young girl, and a boy.
Earlier, in April, 10 citizens were killed by robbers, with a similar number of fatalities recorded in March.
In February 2025, 10 more lives were lost to street crime, while five people were murdered by robbers in January.
