Selective, agenda driven journalism by Yalda Hakim

In a recent TV show, the Sky News host - Yalda Hakim - brought up the issue of AQ's 313 Brigade during discussion with a former Pakistani minister, Sherry Rehman. While the host asked a biased question about a non-existent issue, she also exhibited her lack of knowledge on AQ/ 313 Brigade issue as well as tried to carve out an anti-Pakistan narrative through a cunningly crafted post on X.

If Yalda Hakim is really interested in the issue, she needs to explore a few important questions on AQ's 313 Brigade instead of advancing fake narratives, especially propagated by India. So here are a few important questions for Yalda Hakim:

Who dismantled AQ in the region after 9/11 and remained as a frontline state? Pakistan is the answer that Yalda Hakim will come across. And this is an acknowledged fact worldwide.

Who remained the worst victim of the AQ/ 313 Brigade in the region? Again, the answer is Pakistan. Examples of attacks on former President Musharraf and some key military installations.

Has the AQ's 313 Brigade ever carried out any attack in India? The answer is a BIG NO. Its target has always been Pakistan, so why would Pakistan let it go unchecked? Pakistan has always remained focused on eliminating these groups.

Has AQ only remained in the Afghan-Pak region or spread over the world in so many countries? The answer Yalda Hakim will find will be - AQ is a global terrorism phenomenon with its offshoots spread over different regions or countries.

Is there any AQ's 313 Brigade in the region? The answer will be - no such thing exists in an organized manner after the killing of Ilyas Kashmiri. Remnants have joined different militant groups in Afghanistan and still pose a threat to Pakistan from there being part of the TTP/ Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.

There can be several other questions; however, a deep dive into these questions can even put Yalda Hakim wise on the subject.

The fact of the matter is that after having failed miserably in their military aggression and diplomatic onslaught against Pakistan, India is now feeding such narratives to the media to defame Pakistan. An issue that is dead and dusted since 2011 is brought up by naive journalists, and unfortunately, they parrot it without digging deep into the matter.

Reality is Pakistan is the victim of terrorism from FAK and ITOs (AQ and ISKP, etc), and Pakistan is the country that acts as a frontline state against the menace of terrorism. Falsely blaming Pakistan is just a propaganda war initiated by India, and sadly, reputed journalists fall for it.
