Ceasefire with India: Pakistan recommends awarding Nobel Peace Prize to Trump

Islamabad: The government of Pakistan has decided to recommend the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 for facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

In its statement on X, the government of Pakistan said that the international community recently witnessed unprovoked aggression by India against Pakistan, which was a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and resulted in the loss of innocent lives, including women, children, and the elderly.

The statement said that in exercising its fundamental right to self-defense, Pakistan launched Operation Banyan Marsus, which was a deliberate, strong, and precise military response and was carefully executed to defend its territorial integrity, while also taking care not to harm the lives of Indian citizens.

According to the Pakistani government's statement, during the war in the region, President Trump demonstrated foresight by establishing effective communication with Islamabad and New Delhi, reducing tensions, and calling for a ceasefire on May 10, 2025. South Asia was saved from a possible major conflict between the two nuclear powers. This ceasefire is a testament to his role in establishing peace and resolving issues through dialogue.

The Pakistani government not only appreciates but also recognizes President Trump's sincere efforts to support a lasting solution to the long-standing issue of Kashmir. The Kashmir dispute is a threat to regional security. Lasting peace in South Asia is not possible without the implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolution on Jammu and Kashmir.

The government said in the statement that President Trump's leadership clearly demonstrates the continuity of his legacy of practical diplomacy and effective peacemaking during the Pakistan-India crisis of 2025. Pakistan hopes that Trump’s sincere efforts will continue for regional and global stability, especially for ending the ongoing crises in the Middle East.

It is pertinent to note that the US President has demanded a Nobel Prize for ending the war between Pakistan and India.

Talking to the media, he said that he should also get a Nobel Prize for Rwanda, Congo, Serbia, and Kosovo. Only liberals get Nobel Prizes, but these people will not give it to him.
