National Assembly passes federal budget for upcoming fiscal year

Islamabad: The National Assembly has approved the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

During the session, the Finance Bill was passed clause by clause.

Earlier, a meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which the cabinet approved the Finance Bill with amendments.

The federal cabinet also gave in-principle approval to amend certain laws; however, these amendments were referred to the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Affairs.

Additionally, the cabinet decided to form a committee regarding a gas-related agenda item, which will present its recommendations before the Supreme Court.
