No-confidence motion in PA against 4 opposition standing committees successful

Lahore: Action on the opposition's ruckus in the Punjab Assembly, the no-confidence motion against the chairmen of 4 standing committees was successful.

The Punjab Assembly Secretariat has issued a notification to remove the chairmen of the opposition from their posts.

According to the notification, Ansar Iqbal was removed from the post of Chairman Standing Committee Special Education, Rai Murtaza Iqbal was removed from the post of Chairman Standing Committee Professional Management Committee, Ahsan Ali was removed from the post of Chairman Standing Committee Colonies, while Saima Kanwal was removed from the post of Chairperson Standing Committee Education.

It is pertinent to note that it has been decided to remove the opposition chairmen of 13 standing committees due to the ruckus in the Punjab Assembly.

Meetings of the standing committees were called on the no-confidence motion against the chairmanship of 4 out of 13 standing committees in the Punjab Assembly, in which a no-confidence motion was presented.

It is also reported that Muhammad Yousuf, Ghazanfar Abbas, Atiya Iftikhar and Philbos Christopher had submitted a no-confidence motion against the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Special Education, while the no-confidence motion against the Standing Committee on Management and Professional Development was submitted by Rana Abdul Sattar, Sohail Khan, Rafat Abbasi and Zia-ur-Rehman.

Naveed Aslam, Ghazali Saleem Butt, Zakia Khan, and Ayesha Javed had submitted a no-confidence motion against the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Colonies, while the no-confidence motion was submitted by Faisal Akram, Lal Muhammad, Jafar Ali Hocha, and Imran Javed against the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Literacy.

According to the reports, a decision on the nine standing committees of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly will also be taken soon.
