Cases have been filed against all arrested suspects under Narcotics Control Act


Rawalpindi: A series of operations against drug dealers are ongoing across the country, during which drugs worth more than Rs9 million have been recovered.
According to the spokesperson, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 7 suspects, including a woman, in major operations in different cities, including around educational institutions, and recovered 55.678 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs9 million.
Different types of drugs were recovered during four different operations in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and on the motorway.
Targeting drug trafficking activities around educational institutions in particular, an operation was conducted near a university on Japan Road in Islamabad, where 45 narcotic pills were recovered from the possession of one suspect. During the initial investigation, the arrested suspect confessed that he used to sell drugs to students of educational institutions.
In other operations, 850 grams of ice and 2.4 kg of suspicious powder were recovered from two suspects, including a woman, near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza. 25.2kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle on Karachi’s Northern Bypass Road, while three suspects were arrested on the spot.
In an operation near Mansoora on Multan Road, Lahore, ANF recovered 19.2kg of opium, 2kg of heroin, and 6kg of hashish from a rickshaw, while one suspect was arrested on the spot.
According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against all the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigation has been initiated. The ANF says that a zero-tolerance policy against drug addiction is being implemented in educational institutions, and a coordinated crackdown will continue at the national level in this regard.
