Illegal expenditure was made in 37 post offices of Pakistan Post


Islamabad: Pakistan Post has disclosed illegal expenditure of Rs4 billion in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting.
The Public Accounts Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman PAC Junaid Akbar Khan, during which the audit report of the Ministry of Communications 2023-24 was considered.
Audit officials revealed illegal expenditure of Rs4 billion by Pakistan Post during the meeting.
According to audit officials, Pakistan Post spent the money received in various ways instead of depositing it in the treasury, and illegal expenditure was made in 37 post offices of Pakistan Post.
Audit officials said that Pakistan Post made money orders and Western Union payments with the money; they are making false statements, and the same thing is still happening in various post offices.
On this, the Secretary of Communications said that this step had to be taken due to the lack of an effective payment system. There were difficulties in the first 3-4 months, but now the system has been fixed.
