Polling for 11 Senate seats in KP on July 21, list of candidates released

Peshawar: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released the list of candidates for the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Election Commission, polling for 11 vacant Senate seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on July 21, for which 16 candidates are in the fray.

According to the ECP, Jamat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Atta-ul-Haq, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Talha Mahmood, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Niaz Ahmed are candidates for the general seat, while independent candidates Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri are also among the candidates for the general seat.

According to the Election Commission, Faisal Javed, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Muhammad Waqas, Dilawar Khan, Faiz-ur-Rehman, Irfan Saleem, Shafqat Ayaz, Khurram Zeeshan, Azhar Qazi, and Asif Rafique are also among the independent candidates.

The Election Commission says that four female candidates are contesting for the two women's seats, including Rubina Khalid and Rubina Naz from the PPP, while Ayesha Bano and Mehwish Ali are running as independent candidates.

According to the Election Commission, six candidates are contesting for the two Technocrat and Alam seats, including Dilawar Khan from JUI-F, while Khalid Masood, Irshad Hussain, Azam Swati, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, and Waqas Ahmed Qazi are independent candidates.
