FBR officials brief PM Shehbaz on progress of digital invoicing system and establishment of command and control unit

(Web Desk): A review meeting on reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which key decisions were made to make the tax system easier and more transparent for the public.
The Prime Minister welcomed the initiative to present tax return forms in Urdu and directed that a helpline be established immediately to assist the public in filing their returns. He emphasized that facilitating the common citizen should be the top priority in tax reforms.
The Prime Minister also instructed that the digital invoicing system be introduced in Urdu, and stressed that third-party validation must be ensured for transparency in all reform measures. He noted that the new and simplified tax return forms would benefit the salaried class the most.
He further directed that special facilities be provided to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and emphasized the need for a widespread public awareness campaign to educate people about the new tax system.
During the meeting, FBR officials briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the digital invoicing system and the establishment of a command and control unit.
The Prime Minister instructed that every phase of the reform process be completed on time to restore public confidence in the tax system and enable an increase in revenue collection.
