Local authorities urge residents of coastal settlements to stay away from the sea as a precaution

(Web Desk): A tsunami alert has been issued following a series of earthquakes off the eastern coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region, according to international media reports.
Three tremors, measuring 5.0, 6.7, and 7.4 in magnitude, were felt in the region, sparking panic among local residents. The strongest quake, with a magnitude of 7.4, struck offshore, triggering the tsunami warning.
Reports say the epicenter of the powerful quake was near the city of Petropavlovsk, which has a population of around 180,000. The quake occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers beneath the sea.
Media also reported that several aftershocks have been recorded since the initial tremors.
In response, local authorities issued a tsunami warning and urged residents of coastal settlements to stay away from the sea as a precaution.
