Rawalpindi: In a tragic incident, a woman and her 14-month-old baby boy were brutally assaulted, leading to death of the toddler while the mother sustained severe injuries in Rawalpindi.
As per details, the accused identified as Wajid assaulted the mother and son using a sharp object, following which the 14-year-old died on the spot.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot of incident after getting information and shifted the severely injured mother and her deceased son to a nearby hospital.
“The suspect called over the woman at the Mahuta Mohra area where he heartlessly assaulted them before fleeing,” said police.
However, police has started an investigation into the incident and reportedly have yet to apprehend the alleged suspect.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Punjab Inam Ghan has taken notice of the case and instructed RPO Rawalpindi to report immediately on the tragic incident.
