Meta adds new feature to sync profile photos across apps
This feature is currently available to a limited number of users through the beta version of WhatsApp on Android devices

(Web Desk): It is often said that the first impression is the last impression — and in the online world, this holds especially true. Profile photos are usually the first thing people notice.
Now, Meta is adding an interesting new feature to WhatsApp related to profile pictures. At the same time, this feature will somewhat link Meta’s social media apps with each other.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to import their Instagram or Facebook profile photo to use as their WhatsApp profile picture.
The report states that this feature is currently available to a limited number of users through the beta version of WhatsApp on Android devices.
Using the feature is simple. Just go to profile settings, click on edit profile picture, and (if the feature is available to you) options for Instagram and Facebook will appear below.
Currently, WhatsApp users can only change their profile photo by selecting an image directly from their phone gallery, choosing a digital avatar, or generating an AI image.
But with this new feature, users will be able to use their Instagram or Facebook profile photo on WhatsApp as well.
The report adds that this feature is optional and will be turned off by default. To use it, the WhatsApp account will need to be linked to Meta's Account Center. However, this feature will not compromise user privacy.
As noted earlier, since this feature is currently in beta testing, it is still unclear when it will be rolled out to all users.
