8 more dead, 21 injured in rain-related incidents in 24 hours


(Web Desk): Due to recent monsoon rains, eight more people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 279.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), eight people died and 21 were injured across the country due to rain-related incidents in the past 24 hours. Six deaths were reported in Punjab, while one each occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
All 21 injured individuals were reported from Punjab, according to the NDMA.
The NDMA report stated that a total of 279 people have died and 676 have been injured due to rain-related incidents so far.
In the last 24 hours alone, 362 houses were damaged and 7 livestock perished.
Overall, 1,553 houses have been damaged and 374 livestock have died due to the ongoing monsoon rains.
