Also inaugurates other facilities for passengers at Lahore Railway Station today


Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched the Pakistan-Business Express train to provide better travel facilities to passengers.
He also inaugurated other facilities for the passengers at the Lahore Railway Station today. These facilities include the installation of escalators and the renovation of the family lounge, general waiting halls, and CIP lounge, along with access to the internet through WiFi.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Prime Minister commended Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and the management of the Railways for providing world-class facilities to the passengers. He said it is a first step towards a long journey, and there is a need to expand such facilities to other stations across Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif urged the Minister for Railways to make the train service the best mode of travel for a common passenger, improve the freight system, and bring the Pakistan Railways at par with the best railway systems of the world.
Earlier speaking on the occasion, Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi apprised that his ministry is committed to providing the best travel experience to the passengers. He said ATM and POS machines will be installed, initially at 348 stations, to provide a cashless experience to the passengers to buy tickets. He further said inquiry services of Pakistan Railways will be made fully functional by next week.
Hanif Abbasi said escalators will also be installed at the Karachi Railway Station.
