California: An F-35 fighter jet crashed near Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore in California, but fortunately, the pilot ejected safely and survived.
According to the US Navy, the F-35 fighter jet went down on Wednesday near NAS Lemoore. In an official statement, the Navy confirmed that the pilot skillfully ejected from the aircraft and escaped unharmed. No other individuals were affected in the incident.
Reuters reported that no further details about the crash have been released yet.
A statement from NAS Lemoore said that an investigation into the crash has been launched.
The F-35 is one of the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world. It is a fifth-generation stealth multi-role combat jet equipped with advanced avionics, a powerful engine, and capabilities designed for air superiority, strike missions, electronic warfare, and intelligence gathering.
The aircraft is manufactured by US defense contractor Lockheed Martin and is considered the world’s only modern, long-range stealth fighter designed for diverse combat missions.
As of now, Lockheed Martin has not released a statement regarding the recent crash.
