Iranian president receives guard of honor at PM House, meets Shehbaz Sharif
Meeting between PM Shehbaz and the Iranian president will include discussions on matters of mutual cooperation

Islamabad: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived at the Prime Minister House to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan yesterday on a two-day official visit. During his visit, he paid his respects at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and also met with Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Today, the Iranian President has a very busy schedule in Pakistan. He is set to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani, and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
As part of the visit, President Masoud Pezeshkian first arrived at the Prime Minister House, where he was warmly received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A guard of honor was presented to the President of the brotherly Islamic country.
On this occasion, the national anthems of both countries were played, and a smartly turned-out contingent presented a salute to the distinguished guest. The Iranian President also planted a tree at the Prime Minister House.
According to sources, the meeting between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Iranian President will include discussions on matters of mutual cooperation. Later, agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed.
Sources further stated that a luncheon has been arranged in honor of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Iranian President is also scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari this evening, who is also expected to host a dinner in his honor.
Diplomatic sources have indicated that the bilateral meetings will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and enhancing cooperation in energy and trade sectors.
