Pakistan, Iran sign multiple MoUs to boost bilateral cooperation

(Web Desk): Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were exchanged between Pakistan and Iran during recent bilateral engagements.

A memorandum of understanding was exchanged between the Iranian Minister of Commerce and Pakistan’s Minister for Food Security, while another MoU was exchanged between Federal Minister Khalid Magsi and the Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam.

An MoU was also signed between the Minister of State for Finance and Railways and the Iranian Foreign Minister, as well as between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT, Shaza Fatima, and an Iranian minister.

Both countries also exchanged MoUs to enhance cultural ties, along with agreements for cooperation in the maritime sector and climate-related fields.

Further MoUs were exchanged between the delegations of the two brotherly Islamic nations in areas related to law, justice, and internal affairs, and another was signed for cooperation in aviation services.

In addition, Pakistan and Iran exchanged MoUs focused on improving product standards and fostering cooperation in the tourism and public services sectors.

Meanwhile, during a joint press conference with the Iranian President, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that several MoUs had been signed with Iran, expressing the hope that these would soon turn into formal agreements.

He also noted that Pakistan and Iran have set a trade target of $10 billion.
