Flood alert issued for Chenab river

(Web Desk): Rain is expected in various parts of the country today as well.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is likely at a few locations in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
In addition, partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain or drizzle is expected in Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh.
The seventh spell of monsoon rains is set to begin on August 13.
Meanwhile, due to water release from an Indian dam and ongoing rains, there is a likelihood of moderate to high-level flooding in the Chenab River at Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad Barrages.
The Flood Forecasting Division Lahore has issued an alert.
Moderate to high-level flooding is also expected in the Chenab River and its connected streams and tributaries within the next 12 hours.
