Army Chief lauds troops and rescue workers during Punjab flood visit

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited flood-affected areas of Punjab, including the Sialkot sector, Shakargarh, Narowal, and Kartarpur, where he encouraged rescue workers for their service to the public.
During the visit, the Army Chief was given a detailed briefing on the current flood situation and the preparedness for upcoming rain spells.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the affected areas and appreciated the coordinated and tireless efforts of both military personnel and the civil administration.

In the Sialkot sector, the Army Chief also met with the affected Sikh community, assuring them that all religious sites impacted by the floods, including Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, would be restored to their original state on a priority basis.
The Field Marshal emphasized that protecting minorities and their places of worship is the responsibility of the state and its institutions, and Pakistan will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling this duty.

The Sikh community warmly welcomed the Army Chief and expressed gratitude for the services rendered by the civil administration and military during the floods. On this occasion, the Army Chief also conducted an aerial survey of Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the timely and effective strategies implemented, which helped minimize the loss of precious lives and property.
Addressing the soldiers, the Army Chief lauded their high morale, operational readiness, and spirit of public service, commending their dedication to serving the people in challenging conditions.
Upon his arrival, the Corps Commander Gujranwala received Field Marshal Asim Munir.
