(Web Desk): A migrant boat has capsized near the African country of Mauritania.
According to international media, the incident occurred on Tuesday, with a total of 160 people on board the boat.
Reports say that 49 people died, while 100 are still missing, and 17 individuals have been rescued.
The migrant boat had reportedly departed from Gambia a week ago and was carrying nationals from Senegal, Gambia, and other countries.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the intended destination of the migrant vessel.
