WASA has declared a rain emergency, deploying teams to low-lying areas


(Web Desk): Following continuous rainfall in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the water level in Nullah Lai surged up to 19 feet, but after the rain subsided, the level began to drop and has now decreased to 16 feet.
Due to the high water level, the administration issued an evacuation order and alert for nearby residential areas. Residents living along the banks of Nullah Lai were instructed to move to safer locations and cooperate with emergency services.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rainfall is ongoing in various parts of the twin cities.
As per the local administration, the water level in Nullah Lai at Katarian reached 15.7 feet, while the level rose above 19 feet at Katarian and over 14 feet at Gawalmandi.
WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency) has declared a rain emergency, deploying teams to low-lying areas. The WASA Managing Director stated that the situation is being closely monitored, and all necessary preparations have been made.
