1.3 million acres of agricultural land are underwater


Lahore: Director General (DG) Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, says that the next 24 hours are very important for Multan.
Speaking to a private news channel, he stated that this is not the first time that unexpected rain has occurred in Gujarat, and there are difficulties in rescue due to the rains in Gujarat.
The DG PDMA added that due to the flood situation in the three rivers, 1.3 million acres of agricultural land are underwater. 4,000 villages in Punjab have been affected by the flood.
Irfan Ali Kathia further said that the protection of human lives is our top priority. The decision to breach is taken only after technical studies.
He said that 1.5 million cusecs of rail has arrived at Khanki. The railway track system across Punjab has been affected due to the flood. Fumigation is being done in the flood-affected areas.
