Gambling apps promotion: Notice issued to TikToker Iqra Kanwal
Iqra responded that doctors have directed her to take rest for at least two months


Lahore: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has also summoned YouTuber Iqra Kanwal in connection with the promotion of gambling applications.
Expanding the scope of the investigation against TikTokers and YouTubers, the NCCIA has issued a notice to Iqra Kanwal after Rajab Butt, while Saad-ur-Rehman alias Ducky Bhai and his wife are already under investigation.
The said investigation began on August 28, after which two notices have been sent to Iqra Kanwal so far.
She is accused of promoting gambling apps on social media like other YouTubers, including Ducky Bhai.
The agency has earlier arrested YouTubers Rehman and Mudassar Hassan, who were accused of inciting people to make illegal investments by promoting such apps.
Apart from Iqra Kanwal, the agency has also ordered Rajab Butt and Muhammad Anas to appear in its Lahore office on September 9.
The NCCIA has warned that if Iqra Kanwal does not appear, it will be understood that she has nothing to present in her defense.
Iqra Kanwal has submitted a written response through her lawyer Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq.
In her response, she has said that she is pregnant and is going to become a mother soon. In this condition she cannot appear, the doctors have also directed her to take rest for at least two months.
The response said that after recovering, Iqra Kanwal will fully cooperate with the investigation and provide all records.
Her lawyer has requested that she be given at least two months’ time.
Barrister Ashfaq confirmed that the response was prepared on September 2 and submitted later as per legal strategy.
