Bahawalnagar: A young man fell into the river while taking a selfie on a bridge on early Monday.
Rescue officials reported that the incident occurred at 2 a.m., when the youth slipped into the Sutlej River from a bridge at Bhukan Pattan while attempting to take a selfie.
According to rescue authorities, the search operation has been hindered by high flood levels and the strong current of the river.
Officials further stated that despite repeated warnings against standing on the bridge and taking photographs, people continue to ignore the advice.
It is worth noting that following heavy rainfall and the release of water from India, flooding persists in the Sutlej as well as other rivers.
