In a tough contest between ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), PTI’s Ahsan Saleem Baryar won the Sialkot PP-38 by-poll by taking 60,588 votes and beat PML-N’s Tariq Subhani by 7,117 votes.

According to unofficial and initial results of 165 polling stations, in the PP-38 by-election, PML-N got 53,471 votes and was defeated by 7,117 votes.
PTI snatched the seat by taking 60,588 votes, which was earlier won by PML-N.
Ahsan Saleem Baryar of PTI won with 60,588 votes while PML-N's Tariq Subhani came second by taking 53,471 votes.
The by-election at Punjab Assembly constituency PP-38 Sialkot-4 was being held today for which polling started at 08:00 am and continued till 05:00 pm without any break.
A total of eight candidates were vying for the seat while a tough contest was expected between PTI's Ahsan Saleem and PML-N's Tariq Subhani.
The total number of the registered voters in the constituency is 233,422. Including 105,294 female voters.
The Election Commission had established 165 polling stations in the constituency to facilitate the voters.
The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA, Khush Akhtar Subhani.
