Loud explosion occurred as factory building collapsed


Karachi: A fire-hit factory in New Karachi area has collapsed. Rescue workers are feared to be trapped under the rubble of the building. A loud explosion occurred as the building collapsed.
According to the media reports, a fire broke out in a garment factory in Karachi's Sector 8A, after which 10 fire brigade vehicles are busy extinguishing the fire.
A loud explosion occurred as the factory building collapsed, injuring a private TV cameraman and six firefighters.
It is also reported that that the fire broke out on the ground floor of a three-storey factory called Al-Zaib located in New Karachi Industrial Area at 7:00am.
According to the fire brigade, two vehicles were initially sent, but more vehicles were called as the fire intensified. A total of 15 fire tenders and snorkels are trying to control the fire, while a firefighter was also injured during the operation.
