Stop AI from using my images in obscene videos, Aishwarya Rai petitions court
Bollywood actor argues unauthorised use of her images and voice in objectionable material amounts to character assassination

(Web Desk): Bollywood actress and former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai, has filed a petition in court against several artificial intelligence (AI) platforms for allegedly using her images, voice, and other attributes without permission.
According to Indian media reports, Aishwarya Rai’s legal team submitted a joint petition before the Delhi High Court against multiple AI platforms.
The petition requested the court to restrain these platforms from using the actress’s images in pornographic videos, pictures, and graphics.
It further stated that AI platforms were also replicating and using her voice in AI-generated videos and audios to produce inappropriate content without her consent, which should be stopped.
Aishwarya Rai argued that the unauthorised use of her images and voice in objectionable material amounted to character assassination, and urged the court to restrict such practices.
The petition also included a list of fake websites created in her name, as well as other online platforms allegedly misusing her identity to tarnish her reputation.
Additionally, she named e-commerce websites selling products using her name and voice without authorisation.
At this stage, the actress has not filed for damages; she has only requested the court to prohibit the platforms from using her name, voice, and images.
The court has summoned all parties to present arguments by November, while formal proceedings are expected to commence in January 2026.
It is noteworthy that before Aishwarya Rai, several other Bollywood actors had also filed cases against AI platforms for unauthorised use of their names, voices, and images.
