Karachi: Due to the rain in Karachi, schools have declared a holiday today.
The Commissioner Karachi said that all educational institutions in the city will remain closed today. A notification has also been issued in this regard.
Exams scheduled for today at Dow University have also been postponed; new dates will be announced later.
It is pertinent to note that light and heavy rain are continuing intermittently in different areas of Karachi.
Since Tuesday morning, light and heavy rain have been falling intermittently in most areas of the city, including Malir, Quaidabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Surjani Town, Safoora, Gulistan-e-Johar, Sohrab Goth, Saddar, Clifton, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
A heavy spell of rain began at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, resulting in water accumulation in areas such as Shahrah-e-Faisal, near the Drug Road Underpass, Model Colony, Rashid Minhas Road, Nipa, Safoora, and Malir, affecting traffic flow.
Similarly, other areas of Karachi city, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Nazimabad, and Site Area, also received heavy rain.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a new spell of rain in Karachi in the next one or two days.
According to the Meteorological Department, the center of the system is yet to approach Karachi, and a new spell of rain may occur in the city in 24 to 48 hours.
