Qatari PM calls Israeli attack ‘state terrorism,’ vows to respond forcefully

Doha: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has described the Israeli attack in Doha as an act of ‘state terrorism’.

In his first press conference after the Israeli attack, the Qatari Prime Minister made it clear that he reserves the right to respond to the Israeli attack, sending a message to Israel that his country will never ignore this incident.

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed said that he is using all means to respond, going beyond mere statements and condemnations, and a legal team is also being formed in this regard to hold Israel accountable.

He stated: “We believe that today we have reached a decisive turning point and that such barbaric actions should be responded to from the entire region”.

The Qatari Prime Minister added that this incident is pushing the entire region towards chaos, and the Israeli Prime Minister is plunging the entire region into chaos.

The prime minister further said the timing of the attack coincided with a meeting in which Hamas’s negotiating team was discussing US proposals to reach a Gaza ceasefire agreement, but Israel sabotaged the process.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed denied reports that the US had given a warning of the Israeli attack.

He spoke about the US role, saying that US officials contacted Qatari officials 10 minutes after the attack, but Qatar failed to stop the attack because the drone was not visible on radar.

Discussing the role of mediation in the Gaza ceasefire, he made it clear that efforts to mediate in the Gaza ceasefire will continue.

He said that no one can stop us from playing our role and efforts as mediators in the region.

It is pertinent to note that foreign media had previously claimed that Qatar had suspended its role as mediator for the Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages.
