During the session, Lann slowly leaned forward and then collapsed, fainting on stage

(Web Desk): Sweden’s newly appointed Health Minister, Elisabeth Lann, fainted during her first press conference on Tuesday, and the video has gone viral on social media.
According to the New York Post, the incident occurred yesterday when 48-year-old Lann collapsed during a live press conference. She was answering questions from journalists alongside Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Christian Democrats party leader Ebba Busch, among other government officials.
During the session, Lann slowly leaned forward and then collapsed, fainting on stage. As she fell, the podium in front of her also toppled over. Other politicians and some journalists immediately rushed to assist her. The video of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms.
Later, government security personnel helped her, and she returned to the conference hall. Upon her return, she stated that she had fainted due to low blood sugar levels.
She remarked, “This was not exactly a normal day, and such things can happen when blood sugar drops.”
It remains unclear whether she received medical attention, but she did not appear to be seriously injured upon her return.
The incident happened on her very first day as Health Minister. On Monday, September 8, her predecessor Acko Ankarberg Johansson had resigned from the position.
Prior to this, Lann had served as a municipal councillor in Gothenburg since 2019. She is a member of the Christian Democrats and holds a master’s degree in Peace and Development Studies and Political Science, as noted on her LinkedIn profile.
Lann has also previously worked as Deputy Director at the Cabinet Office and participated in the Health Care Responsibility Inquiry.
