Chairman of PEC termed the agreement a milestone for practical training of Pakistani engineers


Islamabad: A historic agreement has been signed between the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Chinese companies to enhance the capacity of Pakistani engineers and provide practical training.
According to the details, the agreement was signed at a B2B conference during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, which includes Thar Coal Block-1 Power Generation Company, Sino Sindh Resources, and Shanghai Electric Engineering Consulting Company.
Under the agreement, Pakistani engineers will be provided practical training on various CPEC projects, while opportunities for engineer exchanges and learning Chinese will also be provided. During the five-year project, 100 Pakistani engineers will be trained on the Thar Coal project, while they will be sent to China for training in the energy sector.
In addition, a special scholarship fund of Rs350 million will be established, through which scholarships will be given to 175 deserving students in the next five years. Pakistani engineers will also learn online Chinese language courses so that they can further improve their skills according to world standards.
The Chairman of PEC termed the agreement a milestone for the practical training of Pakistani engineers, saying that it would provide them with international experience and new opportunities to learn languages.
Engineer Wasim Nazir said that the agreement would open up new career paths for Pakistani engineers as well as play an important role in meeting the country’s energy and industrial needs.
