PCB suspends official over inaction in sportsmanship row during Pak-India match
Due to Usman Wahla’s failure to take prompt action on the matter, the PCB has suspended him

(Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended Director of International Affairs Usman Wahla for failing to take immediate action over a sportsmanship issue during the Pakistan-India match in the Asia Cup.
According to details, after India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup match yesterday, the Indian team allegedly violated the spirit of sportsmanship by refusing to shake hands with the Pakistani players.
A spokesperson for the Pakistan team stated that even at the toss, the match referee had requested the captains not to shake hands.
In response, the PCB informed the ICC that the match referee violated the ICC’s Code of Conduct and MCC laws, and demanded that the referee be immediately removed from the Asia Cup.
However, due to Usman Wahla’s failure to take prompt action on the matter, the PCB has suspended him.
Sources indicate that Wahla is currently in Dubai and has been called back immediately by the board.
PCB Chairman and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying: “For me, nothing is above the dignity and honour of the country.”
