PM Shehbaz meets Bill Gates on UNGA sidelines, discusses continued cooperation
PM Shehbaz expresses gratitude for the Foundation’s collaboration in Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio, improve immunization and nutrition standards, and promote economic inclusion

(Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Bill Gates, founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in a cordial atmosphere on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister recalled the Foundation’s notable relief efforts during the 2022 floods and appreciated its continued support in the wake of the recent 2025 floods.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s collaboration in Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio, improve immunization and nutrition standards, and promote economic inclusion.
He particularly emphasized the importance of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s ongoing support in achieving the complete eradication of polio in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the Foundation’s practical and positive support in Pakistan’s comprehensive economic reforms and digitalization initiatives.
Both Shehbaz Sharif and Bill Gates reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint cooperation for Pakistan’s economic and social development, especially in the areas of health, nutrition, immunization, economic inclusion, and the digital transformation of the economy.
