China becomes first country to produce flying wind turbine
Turbine has been able to reduce cost of electricity per kilowatt by 30 percent

Beijing: China has surpassed the world by achieving another success; it became the first country to produce a flying wind turbine.
This power-generating wind turbine has been named S1500. Its specialty is that it generates electricity from the wind while rising above the ground. The company that manufactured it is SAWES Energy Technology Company, and it has a partnership with Tsinghua University and other research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
According to private TV, the size of the S1500 is about 60 meters long, 40 meters wide, and 40 meters high. This wind turbine has 12 generator units, each has a capacity of 100 kilowatts. It generates a total of 1.2 megawatts of power.
The electricity generated by this turbine is transmitted to the ground through a cable. Its material and structural costs are low. Another feature is that these units can be quickly moved to different locations; these turbines can be easily moved to wetlands, remote islands, deserts, or mining areas.
This turbine has been able to reduce the cost of electricity per kilowatt by 30 percent compared to traditional land turbines, and its material is also 40 percent less than land turbines.
