Disagreements have arisen between Punjab and Sindh regarding relief efforts for flood victims

Islamabad: Amid rising tensions between the Sindh and Punjab governments, President Asif Ali Zardari has urgently summoned Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to Karachi.
President Asif Ali Zardari called the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during which they discussed the issue of tensions between the Sindh and Punjab governments.
During the telephone conversation, President Zardari directed the Interior Minister to immediately proceed to Karachi.
It is important to note that disagreements have arisen between Punjab and Sindh regarding relief efforts for flood victims, with both provincial governments criticizing each other.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government in Sindh demands that aid for flood victims be provided through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), whereas the Punjab government led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has refused to deliver aid via BISP.
