President Zardari assigned Mohsin Naqvi task to reduce growing tension between PPP and PML-N

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned senior party leaders to try to broker a ceasefire between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to media reports, the political tension between Punjab and Sindh will be discussed during this time.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be briefed about the PPP’s walkout during the National Assembly session, and senior PML-N leaders will inform him of the PPP’s concerns.
On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will also meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today and convey the President’s message.
It is also reported that President Zardari has assigned Mohsin Naqvi the task of reducing the growing political tension between the PPP and the PML-N. The Interior Minister will discuss the recent tension between the PPP and the PML-N.
It is pertinent to note that Mohsin Naqvi met President Asif Zardari at Bilawal House Karachi yesterday, in which the political situation and the tension between the Sindh and Punjab governments were discussed.
President Asif Zardari directed the Interior Minister to play a positive role in the current situation.
It should be noted that differences have started in Punjab and Sindh regarding the assistance to flood victims, over which both provincial governments are criticizing each other.
The PPP government in Sindh is demanding that flood victims be helped through the Benazir Income Support Program. However, the PML-N government in Punjab has refused to assist BISP.
Ministers of both provincial governments are still holding continuous press conferences on the issue.
