Two terrorists neutralised, as many wounded in Peshawar's Hassan Khel operation
Police claims remaining terrorists will be neutralized in ongoing exchange of fire

Peshawar: Two terrorists were killed and two others injured during a security forces’ operation in the Hassan Khel tehsil of Peshawar district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The clearance operation is still underway.
According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr. Mian Saeed, three more terrorists have been surrounded, and additional reinforcements have been dispatched to the area.
In a statement, Dr. Saeed said that the Hassan Khel police displayed remarkable courage, bravery, and professionalism in repelling the terrorist attack.
The statement further noted that it is likely the remaining terrorists will be neutralized in the ongoing exchange of fire, as the police thwarted their nefarious plans through timely action. A heavy contingent of police has been deployed in the area.
Over the past year, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) decision to end its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), a day earlier two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu district, one of whom was identified as the mastermind behind the killing of four personnel in April.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that on Wednesday, eleven security personnel — including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major — were martyred during an exchange of fire between security forces and TTP terrorists in Orakzai district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
