Dubai: United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the suspension of passenger flights from Uganda until at least August 7 while travelers from Nepal are restricted until further notice.

As per reports, passengers who have connected through Uganda in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE, Emirates said.
UAE Nationals and their first degree relatives, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions accredited by the UAE and the two countries who comply with updated Covid-19 protocols, as well as delegations and businesspeople who have received prior approvals, will be exempt for travel, the airline added.
Earlier this week, the UAE authorities had announced a suspension on entry of passengers from 16 countries including India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Liberia, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uganda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Zambia.
It has also prohibited all UAE nationals, except diplomats and those with medical emergencies, from travelling to these countries.
Only UAE citizens, diplomats, golden and silver residency visa holders will be allowed to enter the country. No more than eight passengers are allowed to travel per private charter jet.
In July, UAE’s Emirates and Etihad airways suspended travellers from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to Dubai until August 7, in view to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The airline in its latest travel advisory said that passengers who have connected through India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.
The airline further added, “UAE nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with updated COVID-19 protocols, are exempt and may be accepted for travel”
