Police crackdown against religious group continues across Punjab, including Lahore

Lahore: Police have detained more than 2,500 individuals during a province-wide crackdown against a religious group.
According to police sources, more than 2,500 individuals have been taken into custody so far as part of the operation.
In Lahore alone, 251 people have been detained, followed by 135 in Gujranwala, 178 in Sheikhupura, and 128 in Sialkot. Police have also detained 80 individuals in Gujrat, 196 in Rawalpindi, and 210 in Mandi Bahauddin, while arrests have been made in Attock and Sadiqabad as well.
Police reported that 76 cases have been registered in various stations across Punjab against those involved. During the clashes, one police inspector was martyred and around 250 officers and personnel sustained injuries.
Lahore reported the highest number of casualties among the police, with 142 officers and personnel injured, while 48 were wounded in Sheikhupura following attacks by demonstrators.
