New oil and gas reserves have been discovered in the country.
Mari Energies Limited has discovered oil and gas in the Mari Gazij CFB-1 exploration well.
The Mari Gazij CFB-1 exploration well was drilled targeting oil-rich zones within the formation, and the well will yield 305 barrels of oil per day and 3 MMSCFD of gas.
Mari Energies CEO Faheem Haider has described the discovery as a success for the company’s geoscientists, saying that Mari Energies aims to support the government in its efforts.
According to the authorities, the well was drilled on September 12, 2025, and when the depth reached 1,195 meters, oil and gas reserves were found. This is the second well to discover oil in Mari Gharij.
