Muzaffarabad: The newly-elected members of the Azad and Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly elected Anwarul Haq as Speaker of the House on Tuesday.

As many 49 members took part in the voting process and got Anwarul Haq of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf elected through 32 votes.
Two votes got rejected. Faisal Mumtaz Rtahore, who was the joint candidate of PPP and PML-N, bagged 15 votes.
Chaudhry Riaz of PTI was elected Deputy Speaker of the House. He obtained 32 votes.
Outgoing Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir took oath from the newly-elected Speaker. Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan of Muslim Conference, Javed Iqbal Bhadanvi and Chauhdry Yaseen of PPP didn't appear in the assembly for taking oath.
Of 53 seats of AJK Assembly, PTI won 32 seats and three resereved seats in the recently held AJK elections.
