Analysts expect no change in interest rate amid current inflation levels

The State Bank of Pakistan will announce its monetary policy today (Monday) following a meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee chaired by Governor Jameel Ahmed.
The committee will review key micro and macroeconomic indicators before issuing a statement on the policy rate.
According to economic analysts, there is little likelihood of any change in the interest rate given the current inflation levels.
A survey report showed that 88% of respondents expect the policy rate to remain unchanged at 11%, 10% anticipate a cut of 50 basis points, while 2 percent believe a one percent reduction is possible.
