Cabinet approves Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025

Lahore: In Punjab, land-grabbing cases will no longer drag on for years, as newly established Dispute Resolution Committees will now deliver decisions within 90 days.
At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Cabinet approved the Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025. Under the new ordinance, all districts have been directed to make their dispute resolution committees functional within 30 days.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz affirmed that “no one will be allowed to usurp another’s land in Punjab — the state stands firmly with the weak.”
She reiterated that her mission is to ensure justice, accessibility, and employment opportunities for every citizen at their doorstep.
Separately, during a meeting with members of the Faisalabad Division Assembly and party ticket-holders, the Chief Minister reviewed ongoing development projects and discussed the public service agenda for the region.
