ISLAMABAD, (APP):Pakistan and Iran have reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing regional stability during the two-day official visit of Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Ali Ardeshir Larijani, from November 25–26.
Dr Larijani held formal delegation-level talks with National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik, focusing on expanding collaboration across political, economic, security, and cultural spheres.
He also called on the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, and the Chief of Army Staff, reflecting the depth and importance of Pakistan–Iran ties, a press statement from the Foreign Office said.
During these engagements, both sides reaffirmed their “longstanding bonds of friendship,” grounded in shared history, culture and faith. Discussions highlighted the mutual desire to enhance political engagement, boost trade and economic cooperation, and advance joint efforts in counter-terrorism and border security.
The two countries also emphasized the need to improve regional connectivity and further promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, areas seen as essential for building lasting trust and prosperity.
Pakistan and Iran also held comprehensive exchanges on key regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of close coordination and constructive dialogue. Both sides reiterated their commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes and voiced determination to work together at regional and multilateral fora to address shared challenges.
The officials said the visit contributed to maintaining the positive momentum in bilateral relations, paving the way for deeper cooperation and greater mutual understanding.
