The appeal filed by the PTI founder has been assigned diary number 24560, while Bushra Bibi’s appeal has been given diary number 24561.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have challenged their conviction in the Toshakhana-II case in the Islamabad High Court.
According to details, appeals against the sentence were filed on behalf of the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi through their lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry. The appeal filed by the PTI founder has been assigned diary number 24560, while Bushra Bibi’s appeal has been given diary number 24561.
In the appeals, it was argued that the trial court relied on the statement of Inamullah Shah, who had been dismissed from service, and also relied on the statement of an approver, which, according to the appellants, should not have been done.
The appeals further stated that the prosecution failed to prove its case, and the court was requested to declare the verdict null and void.
It was contended that a person cannot be punished multiple times for the same offence, and that the Special Central Court did not have the jurisdiction to hear the case.
The appeals stated that the Bulgari set was retained by the former ruling couple in accordance with Toshakhana rules. It was also argued that the case was registered without proper investigation. The court was further requested to fix an early hearing of the appeals.
