Six killed, 40 wounded in Karachi fire incident; 56 still missing

Karachi: At least six people died and over forty others were injured when fire erupted in a building on M A Jinnah road in Karachi.

Rescue teams of KMC, Pak Navy, Rangers and firefighters are busy controlling the fire and evacuating the stranded people.

Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori visited the venue and directed to speed up firefighting operation.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah have also directed to utilize all resources to control the fire.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has established a helpline for the convenience of people.

Any information about the incident and missing persons can be provided to the office of Deputy Commissioner South numbers 03135048048, 02199206372 and 02199205625.

On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered an inquiry into the Karachi incident.

Taking notice of the incident, he directed Commissioner Karachi to submit a report after ascertaining cause of the incident.

He also directed for strict action against those responsible.
