In the Group A match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the Netherlands won the toss and elected to field first. Namibia, batting first, posted 156 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
For Namibia, Jan Nicol stood out with the bat, scoring 42 runs off 38 balls, including two sixes and one four.
Chasing a target of 157, the Netherlands sealed the match in the 18th over. Bas de Leede played a brilliant knock of 72 runs off 48 balls, smashing five fours and four sixes, and played a key role in his team’s victory.
The next match in the event will be played today between New Zealand and the UAE, followed by the evening clash between Pakistan and the USA.
