Government decides to shift Imran Khan from Adiala to Islamabad jail

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to transfer the founder of PTI and former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail.

According to details, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that Imran Khan was sentenced by a court in Islamabad; therefore, he will be shifted to a jail in Islamabad.

While addressing the passing-out ceremony of Islamabad Police, he said this is a very important day for the federal police. “We previously did not have a dedicated force to combat terrorism. We initiated this program three months ago. Although the course duration is six months, it was completed in three months through day-and-night efforts.”

He further added that credit goes to the officers who trained these personnel. “We are upgrading training schools in Islamabad, and people from other regions will also come here for training. Having this force at this time was extremely important. I am very hopeful that these young officers will wholeheartedly eliminate terrorists.”

Regarding Imran Khan, Mohsin Naqvi reiterated that since the PTI founder was sentenced by an Islamabad court, he will be transferred to Islamabad Jail. He said the new Islamabad Jail will be completed within two months and that all medical facilities will be available inside the jail.

It is worth noting that PTI leaders have expressed concerns regarding the health of the party’s founder and have alleged negligence on the part of former Adiala Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum.
