Westminster Int'l School Bahria Campus concludes Phoenix Fest & Mavericks 2026 in grand style
The event emerged as one of the largest and most dynamic interschool gatherings in the region, setting new standards of participation, organisation, and youthful energy

Islamabad/ Rawalpindi: Westminster International School Bahria Campus proudly concluded Phoenix Fest and Mavericks 2026, a spectacular five-day interschool mega festival that brought together more than 40 schools and over 2,500 students from across the twin cities in an extraordinary celebration of sports, creativity, and student leadership.
The event emerged as one of the largest and most dynamic interschool gatherings in the region, setting new standards of participation, organisation, and youthful energy.
The festival was formally inaugurated by Pakistan’s renowned tennis star Sara Mansoor, who graced the opening ceremony as the Guest of Honour and officially declared the event open. Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s leading female tennis players, Sara Mansoor is a national champion who has represented Pakistan in major international competitions, including the prestigious Fed Cup.
Her presence added prestige to the occasion and served as a source of inspiration for young athletes, reinforcing the values of discipline, determination, and excellence. Her encouraging words and motivational participation set a powerful tone for the event and energized students throughout the festival.
Spanning five vibrant days, Phoenix Fest ‘26 and Mavericks showcased a diverse blend of traditional sports and newly introduced competitions, reflecting Westminster’s commitment to innovation and holistic education. A key highlight of this year’s festival was the introduction of paddle for the first time, demonstrating the school’s effort to broaden athletic exposure and provide students with opportunities to experience emerging global sports trends.

Students competed passionately in a wide range of sporting events, including cricket, basketball, volleyball, and table tennis, alongside other thrilling competitions such as futsal, arm wrestling, tug of war, callisthenics, foosball, chess, and e-gaming. The festival grounds remained charged with enthusiasm as participants displayed exceptional skill, physical endurance, and strategic brilliance, while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
A defining feature of the event was its division into two major segments: Phoenix, dedicated to athletic competitions, and Mavericks, which focused on intellectual, literary, and artistic excellence. The Mavericks platform provided a stage for students to showcase their creativity and academic talents through a variety of co-curricular and curricular activities, including art competitions, story writing, poetry recitation, singing contests, chess championships, and other student-centred showcases.
With participation across multiple age groups, the festival created a vibrant environment of camaraderie and healthy competition, allowing students from different schools to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another.
Teachers and visiting delegations appreciated the professionalism, discipline, and smooth execution of the event, acknowledging the efforts of the organising team and student volunteers.
Phoenix Fest and Mavericks 2026 concluded on a high note, reaffirming Westminster International School Bahria Campus’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals and promoting platforms where students can excel in sports, academics, and the arts. The successful completion of the festival has once again positioned Westminster as a leading institution in organising large-scale interschool events and has set a new benchmark for student-led initiatives in the region.
